Description
I have been a long time member of DA because I enjoy looking at other people’s wonderful art. However, I am a writer & I work with words, so I have never posted anything here (I know there’s Literature on DA but primarily I find myself getting lost in the visuals).
Plenty of times, however, I have felt like I wanted to write a ‘response’ or a ‘collaboration’ if you like, based on an image or images of a particular artist. This is the first time I’ve carried that through to fruition.
ArthurBlue’s (arthurblue.deviantart.com) work is beautiful & struck a chord with me. It really was a right time, right place kind of moment.
The first piece of his I encountered was “Lingering in the Golden Gleam” (a DD for today). This lead on to others - linked by his love of sand, & his walker character. As he says, the title comes from a poem by Lewis Carroll. It seemed appropriate to Arthur, & somewhat synchronicitous to me (being a poet). I looked up the poem (“A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky”). It had seven three-line long stanzas. I had seven images open on my desktop. It all just seemed to fit.
I hope ArthurBlue likes how I’ve been inspired by his work. I hope you like the poem & that it can stand on its own as a work of art. & I hope to upload more DA-inspired poetry in the future.

Fascinating. Truly fascinating how it all seems to make sense. I feel humbled and honored that my images sparked it. Thank you for sharing it.
